We Investigate: Will Dermafacs RecoverX Really Erase Acne Scarring?

Treat any type of skin scarring in 4-8 weeks, that’s got to be an exaggeration…….. right?

Treat any type of skin scarring in 4-8 weeks, that’s got to be an exaggeration…….. right?

My 7 weeks with RecoverX

One common theme in my life has been issues with my skin. And, believe me, opening up about struggles with my face has never been easy.

Years of pimples, zits and painful cysts left my face looking like a battlefield. Sure, I’d made a lot of progress since lying in bed as a teenager cursing God for the hand I’d been dealt, but the visible scarring was a painful reminder that my struggle would always be there for me, and the world, to see.

I tried everything. Literally, everything. Creams, laser treatments, skin needling, expensive lotions and balms boasting the highest quality, most natural ingredients and guaranteeing immediate results. While some options gave me better results than others, the end result inevitably had me back at square one.

Everything changed in the Summer of 2020. I had just moved to a new city after securing my dream job and made an appointment with a female dermatologist in the area. I was hopeful. I had read good things about her online. It ended up being one of the best decisions of my life.

After looking at my skin and listening to my story, she told me she could help. I’d been going about it the wrong way, she said. No matter how you take care of your face, what matters most is developing a plan that works for you and sticking to it. I had never found that.

She introduced me to a skin cream product called RecoverX, by a company called Dermafacs, which she said was clinically proven to provide results for damaged skin like mine.

RecoverX, she explained, was designed by a team of surgeons and used a proprietary micro-silica formula to improve the texture of scarred and damaged skin by boosting the body’s processes for recovery and repair.

On top of that, the ingredients in RecoverX help the body produce orthosilicic acid and draw in moisture from the air, which, when combined, stimulates the growth of healthy new tissue to give your skin a visibly smoother look.

RecoverX was also non-comedogenic (a deal-breaker for me in the past), as well as fragrance free, oil free, paraben free, surfactant free, and cruelty free

I had done research on this type of product before and was intrigued by the idea of using something backed by science. I was, however, a bit concerned I was going to end up wasting my money on another skin cream product.

Still, I decided to give it a shot, and was advised to apply a dime-sized amount of RecoverX two-to-three times a day and told I should begin seeing results in as little as one-to-two weeks, with full results coming in 8-to-12.

Let me tell you, and I am not exaggerating, the results were amazing. I was cautiously optimistic at first, but that initial stage of holding my breath quickly turned into a feeling I hadn’t felt in years: relief.

The results did not come immediately, however. At first, I was actually taken aback by the product’s thick texture, which made it sort of hard to rub in. It also gave me a tingly sensation, but I looked online and was reassured this just meant it was interacting with my skin.

While my skin felt hydrated and smoother after the week-one mark, it wasn’t until week two that I started to notice physical results. The redness in my face began to go away, and my skin appeared toned and glowing.

Week three is when things started improving fast. My scars began to visibly fade right before my eyes. I hadn’t been using it for this purpose, but I began to look and feel younger as well.

By the fifth week I felt like an entirely new person. Any redness or flakiness I’d had was gone, replaced by soft, healthy looking, textured and smooth skin. Years of damage and acne scarring had quite literally vanished.

Seven weeks in and my confidence was at an all-time high. My acne scars were more-or-less invisible. This had been my dream, something I never thought was truly possible.

I was, perhaps compulsively, sending pictures of my face to my mom back home, who likewise couldn’t believe the results I’d achieved. “You must have had surgery or something,” I remember her saying. I felt beautiful.

I continued taking RecoverX for another 2-4 weeks, in order to ensure the results would become permanent, which they ultimately did.

Nowadays, I am an incredibly confident person who absolutely loves the skin they are in. I still use RecoverX as a spot treatment for any blemishes or cuts I get on my face and have started trying it on stretch marks and other areas, with positive results so far.

I look back at my skin journey and feel sorry for the teenager and young adult I had been, angry with the world and bitter about the hand I’d been dealt. But, as it turns out, there was a solution. And I’m so grateful.

So, I repeat to anyone else struggling with their skin the advice that ultimately changed my life: find what works for you and stick with it. I can confidently say that RecoverX worked for me when nothing else did, and, if nothing else, is absolutely worth trying.

My complete breakdown of RecoverX:

Efficacy: 10/10 - It worked exactly as advertised, which in my mind is about the only thing you can really ask for these days. It was refreshing to see a brand claim they could treat my scarring, and actually pull through.

Ingredients: 9/10 -
The ingredients listed on their website are simple and straight forward- water, PEG-75, PEG-8, propylene glycol, hydrated silica, sodium citrate, sodium chloride and phenoxyethanol. I’m not a fan of PEG’s but understand their value and necessity many skincare products, though this is where they lost a point from me. But overall, there’s nothing to fear with applying RecoverX. It’s all-natural, non-comedogenic, and even worked with my problematic and sensitive skin.

Application: 8/10 -
I was able to use it with the rest of my regular routine, but found it a little thick at times to rub in. Give it 5 minutes before you apply any makeup over it.

Timeliness: 9/10 -
Fast, fast, fast.. at least for something that’s getting rid of PERMANENT SCARS. Like I said, it took a couple weeks to get started, but within 2 months it looked like I had completely refreshed my skin. Compare this to a retinol and you’re saving at least 12 weeks of application.

Value: 9/10 -
Okay, so it was a bit pricey.. it will run you almost $100 if you buy it online. But look around for a discount code, I used code sale21 for 10% off. But when it comes to skincare, you get what you pay for! Buy a cheap scar treatment and you’re just going to end up buying it again. In my mind, if it works- it’s worth the money.. especially when it comes to lifelong scarring.
